Who would benefit
from this information?
If you are a manager wanting to foster
growth in your organization - this how I see it:
All people dealing with other people will benefit. Period. However, there are a
couple of different types of people (=workers) out there.
1. People perfectly
happy with the way things are. They shop, work and generally carry on
without any expectations. They don't want to change, and don't need to learn new
things. They like the rules, usually stick with them. These people are coerced
day in and day out but don't care. They won't appreciate this knowledge
whatsoever. They want to be controlled and don't want to spend the
thinking effort to discover how they could improve their life. A salesman's
dream. Although they would be astonished if they could take the time and mental
energy to listen - they won't. Drones. UNLESS some of them harbor a hidden
desire to move forward - to grow in the company. IF we can flush these people
out by providing some tools - we win. On the other hand - we need drones.
2. People feeling they
are used. By their boss, salesmen, advertising etc. These people will
benefit tremendously from this information since they will be given tools to
detect and resist coercive tactics - AND to help them grow. Both personally and
professionally. This is particularly valid in organizations where you find many
people with great potential but stagnant. Giving them these tools might produce
the next star manager or salesperson. This is what you want to accomplish -
create new potential stars.
3. People in a
moving-forward state - still hungry for more knowledge. These people
want effective and proven tools to help them advance. Influence Factors will
help them sell more, get a better job, create harmony in the workplace and
generally do better. Including better customer service and the ability to better
deal with difficult people. These people are the driving force behind companies.
By learning - or refreshing these influence strategies these folks will
immediately put them to use and make a difference in your company. These folks
are most likely to take full advantage of this training. Which will benefit the
organization.
4. Pure marketing and
sales people. Make the deal at any cost. If your group falls into
this category, they probably know this stuff. BUT, a new look at it, or a
refresher won't hurt them. If they even get ONE tiny piece of useful information
out of the session - they are smart enough to capitalize on that many fold.
Meaning increased sales.
If only a third of the participants go away
with only ONE new tip on how to improve things - it's worth it.
