I just moved back to Canada after spending almost 16 years in the US. I moved to NY from Toronto in 1992 where I had set up my consulting practice a few years earlier. I very quickly found out that the approaches to social life and business are different. Some are subtle differences, others are absolutely glaring. Over time I developed a sense for how to influence US clients to see things my way.  My "close" ratio increased.
